The Eagles jumped out on top early and took a 16-7 lead going into the second quarter. In the second quarter, the Eagles scored often and took a 43-14 lead into halftime. In the first quarter, the Wolves came out slow offensively as we struggled to find good shots and the Bulldogs took a 9-4 lead. In the second, Moorcroft finally got it going a little and trailed, 20-15, going into half. I thought we defended their big kid pretty well and our defense kept us in the game. In the second half, the Bulldogs came out and took a 37-26 lead going into the last quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Wolves fought all the way to...

On Tuesday, the Wolves Boys Basketball team hosted the #1 ranked Upton Bobcats. In the first quarter, the Bobcats jumped out on top, 23-7. At half time, the Bobcats extended their lead to 37-9. We just didn’t handle their pressure well. We struggled finding good shots offensively and didn’t play well. In the second half, it was much of the same as the Bobcats went on to win this contest, 69-25. We just never could get it going offensively and we really struggled in all phases. On Saturday, the Wolves traveled to Lusk to take on the Tigers. Aft...

    Sonny Merchen|Dec 23, 2021

On Friday, the Wolves boys basketball team traveled to Glenrock to take on the Herders. The junior varsity team played just a half of a game because of too few players. The boys played well and won the half, 21-18. Varsity played a close game throughout. The Broncs jumped out early and led 22-6 after the first quarter. They widened that lead and took a 40-11 halftime lead. The Broncs cruised to a 70-24 victory. They were long and athletic and returning a lot of players with varsity experience, we struggled with their pressure and turned the ball over way too much to make this game competitive. We lost sev...

On Thursday, The Wolves boys basketball team traveled to Hulett to take on the Red Devils. The Wolves jumped out early and often and took a 41-13 lead into halftime and cruised to a 52-31 Non-Conference win. I thought we played together, shared the basketball and pressured them extremely well. All 12 players who suited gained valuable playing time experience. The Wolves Junior Varsity team took on the Devils in a non-conference matchup on the same day, but only played two quarters because of numbers. The squad came out and played very well,...
