On Monday, January 3, 2022, Jason Scott Garhart passed away at the age of 37, at the Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, WY, from an aggressive cancer. Jason was a loving son, brother and uncle. Jason was born November 20, 1984, to Kevin and Sherry (Haglund) Garhart. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 2003. Jason never married nor had any kids. The condition of Little Missouri Road has troubled residents Jim and Otto Schlosser for several years, prompting an unsuccessful effort in 2018 to pave a 15-mile portion of it with the assistance of federal funding. GILLETTE — Wyoming’s economy continued to rebound in the third quarter of 2021, but its growth has slowed down. And thanks to the highest prices of oil and natural gas seen in several years, the mining industry had a relatively good quarter. The Wolves wrestling team traveled to Hettinger, ND this past weekend to compete in the Hettinger Classic Tournament. The tournament consisted of 14 teams from North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota. The team finished in fifth place, had one wrestler in the finals and many other placers. On Friday, Moorcroft played host to the Powder River Conference Tournament. The Lady Wolves’ first opponent of the day was the Kaycee Lady Bucs. Neither team could get much going in the opening minutes of the game, but the Wolves were able to find success in their half court defense and took a 33-23 lead into the half. On Friday morning, the Moorcroft Wolves Boys Varsity Basketball team was back in action as they played host to the Kaycee Buckaroos in the opening game of the Powder River tournament.
