Willis Lloyd Burks Jr., age 59, of Gillette WY passed away at Wyoming Medical Center on February 21, 2020. Willis Burks Jr. was born in Lovington, NM on September 24, 1960 to Willis and Patricia Burks.     During the month of February, the pantry served approximately 167 people. This included five new clients, 59 under the age of 18 and 37 over the age of 60. Items needed this month include peanut butter, jelly and dry pastas. These items may be dropped off in donation boxes in Sundance at the Crook County Library, 414 E Main St, and the lobby of the school district’s Central Administration Offices at 122 Hwy 585. The Mobile Food Pantry arrives today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Moorcroft Town Center located at 101 S. Belle Fourche Avenue.     JACKSON — Numbers of wapiti drawn to the National Elk Refuge’s feed lines are up significantly this winter, with 8,095 animals counted during an assessment a week ago. The overall on-feed count is 11% greater than the 10-year average of 7314 elk, and it’s 23% higher than the 2019 tally of 6586 wapiti.     Woman sues VA for wrongful death CHEYENNE (WNE) — The Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center and other VA agencies are being sued for wrongful death over alleged medical negligence.     The Board of Trustees for the Crook County Medical Services District officially accepted the resignation of Trustee Joey Kanode on Thursday. The board will now begin seeking a replacement to fill the empty fifth seat.     The Vore Buffalo Jump Foundation (VBJF) has funded internships for two University of Wyoming undergraduates for the spring semester of 2020. Interns Sierra Ferris and Xavier Michael-Young are aiding in curation of the collection of bison bones and other artifacts that have been excavated from the Vore archaeological site.     The Wolves wrestling team finished up their regular season this past weekend at the Wyoming High School Athletic Association State Championships in Casper. They qualified 17 wrestlers for the tournament and made quite a showing with placing ten of those wrestlers, nine of them in the top three.
