Moorcroft High School (MHS) senior Rebekah Anderson has been accepted to Dickinson College on a wrestling scholarship. Anderson is the second MHS female wrestler to receive a scholarship for this sport since girls wrestling was sanctioned in Wyoming in 2020. The Wolves wrestling team hosted their annual Dylan Humes Memorial tournament this past weekend. The gyms were packed and many exciting matches were wrestled all for the chance to win the championship buckle. With 30 teams invited from Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana and Colorado, they competed in the varsity, junior varsity and girls' divisions. As a team, on the varsity side, they finished third under first place Sheridan and second place Thunder Basin High School. The Wolves wrestling team took the weekend off due to the cold temperatures. They were scheduled to compete in the Annual Cowboy/Cowgirl tournament in Miles City, MT, but canceled so as not to travel in the cold weather. They then scheduled to attend the tournament in Newcastle as the closer route, but last minute it was canceled, leaving them to take the weekend off. The Pine Haven Town Council recently discussed the possible advantage to hydro-seeding Harwood Baseball field. The site was hydro-seeded in its infancy, but the cost is significant.
