On March 9, 2019 the Moorcroft High School Junior class hosted the annual Prom. The theme for this year was Enchanted Garden.

In a change-up from prior years, the entire gym was decorated with both sides of the bleachers available for seating. A 20-foot tree adorned the center of the gym with a fully draped ceiling, a waterfall, flowers, lanterns, bushes and candles to give the whole room a soft, romantic feel.

The tree’s trunk and branches stretched across the ceiling, dripping with foliage and fairy lights. It was quite the ordeal to plan and execute, none of it would have been possible without the strong efforts of the junior class.

Sheila Semlek donated flowers and supplies to make the decor pop. Junior class sponsors Steve Richter and Bryan Beauliu with direction from prom sponsor Andrea Wood helped bring the vision to life. Community members, local businesses, and parents went above and beyond to help make this year’s event a special success:

Sheila Semlek and Johnnie Faye Claar donated thousands of fake flowers used to create the Enchanted Garden.

Woods teacher Mr. Santistevens and Ag teacher Mr. Jenkins volunteered the time and efforts of their classes to build support structures for many of the decorations.

Thunder Basin Coal donated batteries for the candles to create the lighting and Amanda Kimsey made sure they made it to Moorcroft in time.

Music teacher Nathan Towell volunteered his time, energy and sound equipment to DJ the event.

Diehls and Krazy Kid Kettle Korn generously donated snacks and tubs of popcorn for the Prom attendees.

The Enchanted Garden truly came together thanks to the kind efforts of so many. We thank all those that helped in making the night a magical evening.
