Moorcroft Police Report

April 8 -14

On April 9, police were contacted in reference to an unattended vehicle rolling backwards down S. Yellowstone Avenue. Officer arrived and observed a vehicle improperly parked on the street and the person who reported the vehicle rolling met with the officer and confirmed it was the correct vehicle. Officer attempted to make contact with the owner at that time, but was unable to. Officer will attempt to make contact again.

On April 11, police were requested by Moorcroft Municipal Court to serve papers to two defendants who live in city limits. Officer was able to make contact with both and papers were served.

On April 12, police were requested to respond to the Moorcroft K8 building for a report of a juvenile in possession of an electronic cigarette. Officer met with the juvenile, the juvenile’s mother and the school counselor about the incident.

On April 13, police were contacted by someone who believed an item was stolen out of the back of a pickup truck. The victim believed it was taken sometime between 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Friday night. Due to where the truck was parked on Big Horn, officer was able to look at camera footage from Town Hall and the item was in the back of the pickup when the victim left the area Friday night.

On April 14, police were contacted in reference to a crash at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Driver of a Chevy Silverado went over the curb onto the sidewalk, hitting the Sinclair dinosaur and subsequently damaging the wall of the building. Incident is still under investigation.
