Temporary digs for seniors

Moorcroft's town council recently offered the local senior center a couple of rooms at the Moorcroft Town Center (MTC) until they are able to move into their own building. After discussing the action among their board members, representatives Donna Ricks, Penny Cruickshank and Cynthia Clonch of the center formally accepted the offer at Monday's meeting of the council.

They hope to be in their new temporary digs within the next couple of months. Public Works will put locks on the doors and the town's cleaner will prepare the space for the seniors' stay.

The town offered this opportunity to the group to facilitate removing the last inhabitants from the structurally compromised construction between Town Hall and the post office. The surrounding bank-owned properties have been deeded to the town for demolition after advice from attorney Jim Peck and the body can now begin plans to remove the buildings.

"It worked out good," said Mayor Dick Claar.
