Last run of the season

On Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, the Wolves traveled to Sheridan for the 1A/2A/4A East Regional Track Meet. Thankfully, the weather gods cooperated with the track gods and allowed a relatively uninterrupted meet to occur. 

In the preliminaries of the 100 meter dash, Grace Breaux placed tenth with the time of 14.21; Amanda Otto placed 14th with the time of 14.61; April Miller placed 15th with the time of 14.62; and Marla Sproul placed 23rd with the time of 15.74. Unfortunately, no one advanced to the finals.

In the 200 meter dash, Hailey Jones placed second in the preliminaries, advancing to the finals where she won silver with the time of 27.76. April placed ninth with the time of 28.98; Grace placed 11th with the time of 29.06; and Amanda placed 20th with the time of 30.75 in the preliminaries, not advancing to finals. 

In the 400 meter dash, Kaylee Terry placed seventh in the prelims, advanced to finals where she took 6th place overall with the time of 1:07.45 and advanced to state competition. 

In the 800 meter run, Hailey placed first with a time of 2:21.14; Kaylee placed fifth with a time of 2:34.10; Jordan Jones placed sixth with the time of 2:34.65; and Amasa Gerstner placed 17th with a time of 3:13.63. Hailey, Kaylee “KT” and Jordan advanced to state. 

In the 1600 meter run, Hailey took another first with a time of 5:30.63; Jordan took second with a time of 6:03.02; Amasa placed 13th with a time of 7:30.70; and Elizabeth Anderson placed 14th with a time of 7:44.41. Hailey and Jordan advanced to State. 

In the 3200 meter run, Jordan placed first with a time of 12:41.39 and advancing to state. 

In the 100 meter hurdles preliminaries, Char Cranston placed eighth with a time of 19.11 and advanced to the finals where she took a tumble, but finished the race taking eighth overall and advanced to state.  In the prelims of the 300m hurdles, Char again placed eighth, good enough to advance to finals where she placed seventh overall with a time of 54.69 and earning a place in state.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Amanda Otto, Char Cranston, Marla Sproul and April Miller placed seventh with a time of 57.27. Unfortunately, only the top four teams in relays advance to state.

The sprint medley (200-200-400-800) team of Kaylee Terry, Grace Breaux, Jordan Jones and Hailey Jones brought home a gold medal with the time of 4:30.73 and headed to state. 

In the long jump, Char placed 13th with a leap of 13’ 8.75”, Marla jumped 12’ 3.25” and Tianne Fischbach did not place, jumping 11’ 4.50’. 

In the triple jump, Marla hopped, skipped and jumped 26’ 3”, placing 13th, Tianne leaped 24’ 0”, placing 16th and Elizabeth did not place. 

In the shot put, Katie Cuthrell placed 21st with a heave of 20’ 8.5” and Elizabeth put the shot 20’ 0.5”.  In the discus throw, Elizabeth launched the discus 50’ 6” placing 25th and Katie threw 50’ 0” placing 26th.  

In the boys action, Grayson Osmon placed second in the boys 100 meter dash, advancing to finals where he brought home bronze after pulling a muscle and earned a spot at state. 

In the 200 meter dash Prelims, Grayson placed fourth and in the finals brought home a bronze medal.  In the 300 hurdle prelims, Grayson placed seventh with the time of 45.03, advancing to finals but was hampered with groin pain and did not run in the finals.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 16-18 the Wolves traveled to Casper for the Wyoming State Championships where the weather gods showed up and dropped a lot of rain at the meet and the Wolves fought the elements and did a tremendous job. 

Grayson Osmon earned fourth place in the 100 meter dash finals with a time of 11.92. 

In the 200 meter dash finals, Grayson placed fourth with a time of 24.04 and Hailey Jones placed fourth with a time of 27.91. 

In the 400 meter dash preliminaries, Kaylee Terry placed 12th with the time of 1:06.46. In the 800 meter run, Hailey brought home a gold medal with the time of 2:20.47; Jordan Jones placed ninth with a time of 2:34.16; and Kaylee placed 11th with a time of 2:36.17.

In the 1600 meter run, Hailey again took home a gold medal, taking first place with a time of 5:19.43 and Jordan brought home a bronze medal, taking third place with a time of 5:51.66.

In the 3200 Meter Run, Jordan brought home a Silver medal with a second place finish and the time of 13:03.24. 

In the 100m hurdle preliminaries, Char Cranston placed 12th with the time of 19.44 and she placed 14th in the 300 hurdle prelims with the time of 54.59.

The sprint medley team of Kaylee Terry, Grace Breaux, Jordan Jones and Hailey Jones won a silver medal, taking second place with a time of 4:25.88.

Mrs. Hunter and Mr. Richards would also like to wish the two senior athletes, Jordan Jones and Grayson Osmon, a wonderful future in all their endeavors, wherever the Wyoming winds should take them.  See you all next season.
