Moorcroft Police Report

On May 27, police were contacted in reference to a male attempting to sell marijuana to a resident in town. Officer spoke to the complainant who stated someone was on their property trying to sell them marijuana and told the officer which direction the man had went. Officers found the suspect and they were subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and Interference with a Peace Officer. Suspect was transported to Crook County Detention Center.

On May 28, police were contacted by an individual who stated newspapers were being stolen from outside the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officer stated they would keep an eye out and also speak to the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop about the papers.

On May 29, police were contacted in reference to a suspicious person walking around on Sheridan Street. The subject was allegedly going onto private property and snooping around. Officer made contact with the subject who stated they were visiting their aunt who lived in the area and was just out talking a walk. Officer advised them to stay off private property.

On June 1, police assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol in a high speed chase. Chase ended in Rozet, WY after the suspect crashed the vehicle they were driving. Officer stayed on scene and assisted WHP while they placed the suspects in custody. Officer cleared when assistance was no longer needed.

On June 1, police were contacted by a local business who had received a counterfeit $100 bill. Officer took possession of the counterfeit bill and advised they would let other businesses be aware the bills were being passed in town.

On June 2, police were contacted in reference to a dog bite. Officer made contact with the victim and her mother who told the officer the information on the dog that bit the child, and who owned the dog. Officer made contact with the owner and they were cited for Vicious Animal.
