Colorado man arrested trying to sell pot to a cop

A Colorado man faces felony charges after allegedly trying to sell marijuana to a pair of Moorcroft homeowners – and then to a police officer.

On May 27 at around 11 p.m., a Moorcroft Police Officer was alerted to the presence of a male subject on East Converse St. who was attempting to sell marijuana to the residents of a home.

The officer was told that the male subject was walking towards the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. He was unable to locate the suspect, but spoke with the two residents who had reported him.

According to the witnesses, Robert Miller attempted to sell them marijuana three separate times and, when the male witness asked him to leave the property, attempted to start a fight with him.

With a physical description of Miller now in hand, the officer once again searched for him. He located him at the front entrance of the Coffee Cup, speaking to another male while appearing to be intoxicated.

A second officer came to the scene to make contact with the suspect to see if he attempted to sell marijuana. After a brief interaction, the second officer confirmed that Miller had attempted to sell him marijuana and had a pipe with residue in his pocket.

The first officer parked his patrol vehicle in front of Miller who allegedly became extremely nervous and grabbed something from his pocket, throwing it away from himself into the parking lot. The officer asked him what the item was and Miller allegedly admitted it had been a pipe.

After Miller was placed under arrest and the pipe retrieved, the second officer confirmed it was the same pipe Miller attempted to offer him. Miller also allegedly admitted that there was more marijuana in his personal belongings.

Miller has been charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and misdemeanors of possession and interference with a police officer.
