CattleWomen to hold drawing for books

During the Crook County Fair, five books will be given away. You can sign up for the free drawing by stopping by the Crook County CattleWomen’s booth in the exhibit hall and enter your name and phone number.

You can enter as many times as you like and you need not be present to win. The winners will be drawn at the start of the Buyers and Community BBQ.

The free BBQ is Saturday, July 27 under the Shade Structure. The books are provided by the Crook County CattleWomen to help promote USA Beef and the agriculture lifestyle. Books by local authors and local illustrators are the majority of those to be given away.

These local writers and artists were probably ‘Seeing the future thru the pasture’ when they wrote these books for our reading pleasure. Some of the writers chosen are Judy Hess, Hulett: Scott Haynes, Newcastle; Codi Vallery-Mills, Western SD; Jan Wood, Newcastle; and illustrators include Karen Small Barton, Upton and Scott Haynes, Newcastle.
