Moorcroft FCCLA "Shoots for the Stars"

The Moorcroft Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) has kicked off the new school year and is inviting new members to “Grow with FCCLA”. The chapter recently held a root beer float party for all past members and anyone interested in joining.

FCCLA is a national Career and Technical Student Organization that provides personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education. It is an excellent way to learn while having fun and serving our community.

The students are preparing to attend the Fall Leadership Conference in October in Casper, and will “Shoot for the Stars” to become the next generation of great leaders. At this one-day conference, students will learn about FCCLA, hear from a keynote speaker and network with other members from across the state. This is a wonderful opportunity for new members to learn about FCCLA and get excited for the year.

The year will culminate with the State Leadership Conference in March, using the theme of “Grow Through What You Go Through” and help students to realize their potential using their experiences to motivate them.

Moorcroft is proud to have two representatives on the State Leadership team: Taylor Reynolds, who is the State President, and Faith Anderson, who serves as the State Parliamentarian. These young ladies will be working hard to provide a life-changing conference in March.

If you have a student who is interested in joining FCCLA, please have them contact Felicia Sams, the FCS teacher at Moorcroft High School, or come to a movie night on October 10 in Ms. Sams’ room. For details, email Ms. Sams at [email protected].
