Cross Country team comes out strong in Montana

The Cross Country team headed north to Montana for the Hardin Middle School/High School Invite at Crow Agency this weekend, where 175 athletes competed in the Middle School 1.5 Mile race.

Myndy Heringer ran her first race in the time of 22:24.06; Joslyn VonOlnhausen also ran her first race of the season, finishing in the time of 15:48.49; Mallory Jones took seventh place with the time of 12:18.25; Katelynn Blakeman chose to run in the Junior Varsity 5000 Meter Race and took fifth place out of 65 runners with the time of 25.39.19, beating her first race time by almost a minute and a half; Hailey Jones ran the varsity 5000 meter race in a field of 75 runners and took second place with the time of 20:45.19, besting her first race of the season by nearly two minutes.

The girls looked really good, they looked strong and confident; I am very proud of the outstanding performance by these young ladies.

The middle school will get a week off competition this week as the high school makes their way to Afton for the State Preview Meet on Saturday, September 14. Then off to Sheridan for the Michelle Ludwig Invite on September 21.
