Town still seeking insurance reimbursement

In July, the booster pumps on the Madison water line were destroyed by a lightning strike that traveled along the electrical wiring to the machines. The town bought the needed replacement parts to a cost of around $16,000, according to Public Works Director Cory Allison.

Under the advice of both Allison and Town Attorney Jim Peck, the town filed a claim with their insurance with the hope that the costs incurred might be might be reimbursed. Allison is confident at this time, after discussing the situation with the company, that the cost will be repaid to the town eventually.
