Snow route ordinance to be enforced this winter

Moorcroft residents who live on snow routes may have noticed the signage has been changed from the old ordinance saying vehicles were not allowed on the route “if the snow reaches four inches” to new signs reflecting the modified ordinance, saying, “if snow is falling between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.”

The realization of this change and enforcement of the ordinance was apparent the morning after the snow storm last week when Moorcroft Police Chief Doug Lundborg and his officers knocked on doors and gave warnings to all those who had not moved their automobiles before 6 p.m. the previous evening

Sergeant Bill Bryant advises residents along the route to be aware: the warnings are over and from this point, vehicles found parked on the snow route when snow is falling between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. will be ticketed with a fine of $200.
