No deal

After extensive discussion, adding the current town hall building into a sale package deal with the lots further up the street has been vetoed by the council.

“If we don’t have a specific interest by somebody in this building,” Moorcroft Mayor Dick Claar explained, “it may not pay us to advertise it because there is a lot more involved.”

The mayor expressed his concern over the expense of the process of leasing the building back for the time needed to modify the MTC option to the required standards or seek a bridge loan. With consideration, Claar advised his council that he wants to return to the original bid package on the north lots and advertise them.

“If somebody ever expresses an interest in this building, we can put together a package. The word’s out there if somebody’s interested,” he said.

The council present at Thursday’s special meeting agreed and approved the motion.
