Creating our story through FCCLA

Moorcroft High School FCCLA joined more than 3500 FCCLA student leaders, members and advisers at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, TX on November 15 through the 17, 2019 to participate in the annual FCCLA National Fall Conference.

The conference provided Moorcroft High School FCCLA students the opportunity to come together with other states for energized learning while listening to keynote speakers Juan Bendaña and Ketric Newell with their encouraging messages of hope, impact and action. Throughout the conference, students were able to expand leadership skills, sharpen talents and explore career pathways through teen leadership sessions.

Students came away from National Fall Conference with excitement for National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year’s conference is “Your Story, Our Story”, which inspired attendees to meet someone new and create your FCCLA story.

Faith Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson from Moorcroft High School FCCLA participated in Teen Talks Workshops, Skills Demonstration Competition, Youth Networking and in the General Conference Sessions. Faith Anderson received Gold for competing in Creed Speaking and Interpretation.

We also receive the opportunity to ride with a very unique Uber driver. On our way to the airport we asked him if he could take us around the JFK Memorial in Dallas, Texas and he said he could do better.

He informed us that he was present during the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963. As someone who was there, he gave us firsthand knowledge of what happened that day. It was by far the best Uber drive back to an airport we could have asked for.
