Moorcroft Police Report

On December 17, police received a report of a male subject yelling and cussing at town employees over the phone and at a work site. Officer made contact with the individual regarding their behavior and advised them if they continued to bother or harass town employees that they would be cited for Interference with a Town Employee. Nothing further.

On December 17, police assisted Moorcroft Fire Department with a lift assist.

On December 18, police were contacted in reference to a suspicious person wandering around an RV parked at their residence. Officer arrived and found numerous tracks around the RV but could find no marks indicating someone had broken or attempted to break into it.

On December 18, police were contacted in reference to an open door at a residence. Police were advised the door has been open for two days in a row and the Caller was concerned. Officer arrived at the residence and spoke with the Owner. Owner knew the door was open but only in the mornings and for a short period of time while she was home.

On December 21, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.

On December 23, police assisted Crook County Sheriff’s Office with traffic control on Bertha Road.

On December 23, police assisted Crook County Sheriff’s Office with a welfare check.

On December 24, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.

On December 24, police were requested to do a welfare check. Officer made contact with the subject and all was well.

On December 26, police gave Emergency Fund Assistance to a traveler in need.

On December 27, police were contacted in reference to a young suicidal female. Officer responded and met with the subject and her mother. Officer spoke with them about any issues and having a safety plan. Officer advised if any other assistance was needed to call an officer. Nothing further.

On December 28, police were contacted in reference to animal neglect. Officer went to the home in question and spoke with the owner of the animal about the complaint.

On December 28, police conducted a funeral escort.

On December 30, police assisted Moorcroft Fire Department with a lift assist.

On December 31, police were contacted in reference to a suspicious circumstance. Reporting person called stating that in a neighboring home a father was unable to care for his child while his wife was intoxicated. Officer responded to the home in question and assessed the situation. Nothing criminal had taken place and no children were in danger. Officer cleared.

On December 31, while on a traffic stop for speeding, the driver was cited for Minor in Possession of Tobacco.

On January 1, police conducted a public service by delivering a message to a resident who needed to pick someone up at the hospital.

On January 1, police assisted Moorcroft Ambulance Service on an emergency call.

On January 1, police were contacted in reference to a man panhandling at Donna’s Diner. Officer was advised the man was headed toward Coffee Cup. Officer made contact with the man at the Coffee Cup Fuel Stop and advised him of the complaints and told him he was not to loiter outside of businesses asking people for money. The man advised he had gotten a job and was staying at a local motel. Nothing further at this time.

On January 2, police were requested to unlock a vehicle that was running. Officer was able to get the vehicle open.
