Prom to take place during Jubilee

Unfortunately, we have been unable to have our traditional spring prom. However, the Moorcroft Chamber of Commerce has graciously offered to sponsor prom as an extension of the Moorcroft Jubilee celebrations.

Prom will be on July 9, 2020 at the Moorcroft Town Center. In keeping with COVID guidelines, the dance will occur outside, in the courtyard between the old junior high pod and the Bearlodge Rehabilitation doors on South Little Horn.

Dress code is as follows; strapless, backless and two-piece dresses are acceptable but should be tasteful (no cut-outs below the waist). Dresses should not reveal cleavage, sides or navels. Dresses may be short, but shouldn’t be shorter than 2” above the knee (including slits). Semi-formal dresses are acceptable.

Gentlemen must wear a suit or a tuxedo jacket and tie. Jeans may be worn but they must be dark wash with no holes or worn spots. No t-shirts, bandanas or baseball caps will be allowed. Dancing will be on gravel/concrete. No slippers will be allowed.

Prom Dates – Singletons are welcome to participate in Grand March and Prom. Students should note that they are a singleton when they sign up.

All out-of-town guests must be approved prior to prom. Out-of-town guest requests should be sent to Mrs. Wood via email at [email protected].

Requests should include the invited guest’s full name, age, grade level and school of attendance. All prom attendees must sign up; an email was send by the school with all the links to sign up.

Day of Prom – parents, siblings and guests are encouraged to view prom starting at 5:30-6:45 p.m. After that, the courtyard will be closed and only prom attendees will be allowed in. This is a great time to take pictures.

The committee asks that guests be respectful of the decorations. Persons touching or moving decorations will be asked to leave.

There will be several themed backdrop areas set-up for more informal photographs. Kellie Allison Photography will be available for photographs starting at 5:30p.m.

Students must schedule ahead of time and have the appropriate order forms filled out. Kellie has posted the information on Facebook also.

Grand March practice will be on July 8 at 7 p.m. All students are asked to attend if possible.

Grand March will begin promptly at 7 p.m. All students participating in prom must report to the main doors of the Moorcroft Town Center at 6:45 p.m. to be lined up.

Grand March will occur down State Hwy 14 and around the corner onto South Little Horn. Parents may park in the upper MK8 Parking Lot, but not in front of the MTC on South Little Horn.

Chairs may be placed in the street outside of the taped off area. We will be closing the street at 5 p.m. so please be patient with the parent volunteer helping you through the barricade to park in the upper MK8 parking lot.

Students and parents will not mix after the Grand March. Following Grand March and the coronation of the Prom King and Queen, all students will be breathalyzed and admitted to the prom area. Any student who is not present to be breathalyzed will not be admitted to prom.

Prom Court voting has already occurred. All Prom Court members are required to attend coronation practice on Wednesday, July 8th at 7 p.m. No exceptions. Members who fail to attend practice will be removed from Prom Court.

Prom participants are expected to stay at prom. Students shall not be readmitted if they choose to leave. Tobacco, alcohol and other illegal substances are prohibited. If there is suspected use, the student will be removed from Prom. Parents and police will be contacted.

Members of the junior class are asked to bring snacks as assigned below. They may be dropped off at the Prom area starting at 5:30 p.m. Other snacks/drinks will not be provided.
