Accident at Hitler Rock

A 20-year-old male was reportedly having fun with friends last Thursday evening when he decided to jump from the cliff in the area of Hitler Rock on the east side of Coulter Bay. Hitler Rock, which had, until a couple of years ago, stood in its place along the top of said cliff and from which youngsters were known to dive, now lies in the waves below, creating a dangerous obstacle to leaping from that position.

This point was proven when the fellow miscalculated his trajectory and landed on the large and very solid stone instead of the water as planned.

According to attending law enforcement, Wyoming Game and Fish Warden Jake Miller, the youth was not ambulatory when first responders arrived and was removed from the scene via stretcher. Life Flight had been called, but was subsequently cancelled and the victim was transported to hospital by the Pine Haven ambulance.

Miller was unable to report any other information on the accident except alcohol did not seem to be involved.
