Lincoln Day Dinner held at Moorcroft Town Center

The Crook County Republican Party hosted the Lincoln Dinner at the MTC Saturday evening with guest speaker former Ohio Congressman Bob McEwen. McEwen currently serves as CEO of the Council for National Policy in Washington DC.

House District #1 Representative Elect Chip Neiman was on hand from set-up to break-down, ensuring the event ran smoothly. Chip later said of the banquet, “The event was phenomenal! It was well attended and people enjoyed it.”

According to Neiman, there were well over 150 supporters in attendance, “For having to move it twice and cancel it twice and doing it a third time on a holiday weekend, the support was just awesome.”

Prime rib was prepared and served by the Rockin’ Cowboy Cook Shack. “There were a lot of good comments on the food. It was delicious,” Neiman reported.

The live and silent auction items counted well over 30 in each, raising a sum total of $12,140. In one instance, the rifle won in the raffle during dinner was donated back to be auctioned later in the evening, “That was awesome.”

“What was so encouraging to me was the sheer number of young people. We had several people who donated tables of six and eight seats just to sponsor youth so they didn’t have to pay anything. It was so fun to see how many young people were there and involved.”

The funds from this event will be used to promote the Republican Party platform, local scholarships and certain candidates throughout the state and nationally.
