Wolves lose by two

On Friday night, the Moorcroft Wolves traveled to Wright to battle the Panthers. The Wolves put up a hard fight with nine players out for this week’s game. However, the rest of the team was able to step up, play hard and fill important roles.

It was a hard-fought battle as both teams struggled to put points on the board until the fourth quarter. Finally, a big run by Randy Peters, set up by excellent downfield blocking by Hunter Garoutte, Zane Linder and Lane Wood, set up the Wolves in great field position. Linder was able to punch in the football and the Wolves led 6-0.

However, the defense of Moorcroft finally weakened as the Panthers traveled down the field on their final drive to score and convert the 2 point conversion with less than a minute left. Wright won the game 8-6. Moorcroft now sits at 2-2 on the year and will travel to Southeast for their next game.
