County residents graduate HiSET

The College and Career Readiness Center of Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) celebrated the 2020-2021 HiSET high school equivalency graduation for five Crook County residents on June 24.

The ceremony was a combined in-person and virtual ceremony including the EWC main campus in Torrington with graduates from that area. Involved in the ceremony were local instructor Janet Lake, Program Director Callie Allred and College President Dr. Lesley Travers.

Lake, who covers Sundance and Hulett, instructed all students but Sammilee, who was a Moorcroft student of Ayme Ahrens, who has since moved from Upton, which she also covered. Both programs are accepting new students for the high school equivalency program, math or reading brush up before college, or English language learners.

There is no cost to students for the programs, and the minimum age is 16. Lake’s number is 307-283-2215, and the new instructor for Moorcroft and Upton is Lori Materi, 307-746-8411.
