Devils Tower Natural History Association seeks board members

The Devils Tower Natural History Association (DTNHA) is looking for new board members to replace the three present directors whose terms will be coming to an end this fall.

Since 1958, the association has supported projects and tourism at the Tower, including publication of interpretive books, guides and materials about the monument and its surrounding area.

Major projects that the association has contributed to include the Jr. Ranger program, interpretive panels for the information desk, development and renovations of multiple park facilities, the Volunteer in Parks program, the Adopt a Crag program, the Night Sky program and more. DTNH has also helped to create numerous publications related to the tower, from children’s activity books and games to climbing handbooks and checklists of birds, flowers, mammals and trees.

DTNHA describes itself as a cooperating association dedicated to providing financial assistance to the NPS at Devils Tower National Monument for cultural and educational programs and infrastructure, with revenue from its bookstore at the Visitor Center.

If you would like to stand for election in late September, please contact Mary Silvernell, Board Chair, at 307-299-2838, or Renée Carrier, Board Secretary, at 307-467-5930, or 307-281-2958 for more information and an application.

In other Association news, please note that the Old Settlers Picnic has been cancelled for 2021 due to pandemic safety concerns. NPS and DTNHA look forward to reinstating the picnic in 2022.
