Michael Jon Mansager

Michael Jon Mansager passed away at his home in Pine Haven, WY, July 28, 2021.

Mike Mansager was born July 29, 1951, to Eugene “Skip” Ray Mansager and Francis “Lorraine” Detling Mansager in Estherville Iowa. Mike had four siblings: Melvin Mansager, Pat Femling, Julie Reiter and Gwendolyn Mansager.

Mike lived his early childhood on the Mansager family farm near Fenton, IA until 1962. He attended elementary school in Iowa, middle school in Blackduck, MN and finally graduated high school 1969, at Fargo North High School.

Mike served in the US Marine Corps from August 1969 to August 1971, where he received a National Defense Service medal.

Mike married Sheila Kay Smith July 2, 1975. Mike has five daughters Tiffany and Deana Ebele, Brandy, Michelle, and KeeLee Mansager. He moved to Gillette WY in 1977.

Mike worked as a civil and structural engineer most of his professional career. Norther Technologies and Moore Engineering were two companies he worked for.

Mike lived mainly in the upper mid-west or wherever his job took him. He loved to fish and hunt in his spare time and always had a great story to tell.

After retirement Mike moved to Pine Haven/Keyhole Reservoir where he spent much of his time fishing and golfing.

Michael is survived by three siblings, Melvin (Sydni) Mansager of Pleican Rapids, MN, sister Pat (Brian) Femling of Savage, MN, Julie (Darrel) Reiter of Vergas, MN; daughters Tiffany (Rick) Tebay of Alpena SD, Deana (Ted) Watkins of Gillette WY, Brandy Plumb of Huron SD, Michelle Siemonsma of Huron SD, KeeLee (Chris) Peterson of Marrietta GA. He had four nieces and three nephews, 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Michael is preceded in death by sister Gwendolyn, mother and father, maternal and paternal grandparents.
