Wolf Pups end season

The junior high Wolves wrestling team wrestled their district tournament on Friday, December 17 in Wright. They took 18 wrestlers, placed 11 and placed first as a team with 173 points over second place Sundance and third place Upton.

Individual results were:

Champions: 75 - Marcus Reynolds, winning with a pin; 100 - Carter Hutchinson won the championship match with a pin; 132 - Chayce Buckner with a pin; and HWT - Elyott Gorsuch, pinning his way through.

Second Place: 70 - Caden Cantu, losing in the finals in overtime to take second place and 95- Hayden Amende lost a tough fought match in the finals by decision.

Third: 70 - Caysen Phillips, 95 - Danner Wiseman and 165 - Lathan Dewey.

Fourth: 105 - Wyatt Fenner and HWT - Brayden Keller-Dacoteau

This concluded the junior high season; Coach Cameron Braden commented on the year by saying, "I am really proud of the boys and how they wrestled. They worked super hard every day in practice and it showed at the district tournament. They deserved it!"

After the District tournament, 12 wrestlers headed to Pinedale, Wyoming to wrestle in the USA middle school state tournament. This tournament qualifies them to be a part of Team Wyoming to compete at the AAU Lee Pamulak National Middle School Duals in Des Moines, IA, April 7-10.

Four Moorcroft wrestlers qualified, 130 - Chayce Buckner; 152 - Truck Lowrey; HWT- Elyott Gorsuch; and in the female division, Carlee Roth. Other placers were, 75 - Marcus Reynolds, 4th; 90 - Danner Wiseman, 6th; and 130 - Jacob Anderson, 3rd.
