Wolves drop close one to Glenrock

On Friday, the Wolves boys basketball team traveled to Glenrock to take on the Herders. The junior varsity team played just a half of a game because of too few players. The boys played well and won the half, 21-18.

Varsity played a close game throughout. After the first quarter, the score was tied at 6; we played really tough defense and just couldn’t get our offense going.

At half, the Wolves took a 19-16 lead and after the third quarter, the team led, 28-25. In the fourth, the Herders outscored us, 17-13 and won the game, 43-41.

We did all the things we talked about doing, we took care of the basketball, we rebounded well, we played great defense, but unfortunately for us, our shots were just not falling. We ended up shooting 12-59 from the field.

Sometimes it just feels like there’s a lid on the basket and that night was just not our night, but the boys played tough throughout.

The Wolves will be back in action on Tuesday night when we host the Hulett Red Devils in a throwback game. We will be wearing old jerseys and also have an alumni game!
