Lady Wolves fight for victory

On Tuesday, the Lady Wolves took on the Bobcats from Upton. We knew going into the game that it was going to be a tough challenge. They have good size and the ability to run the floor.

The Bobcats got off to a quick start in the first quarter and led, 20-13. The Lady Wolves came back in the second quarter and outscored Upton to take a 33-29 lead into halftime.

The second half was all Bobcats as they won the game, 59-45. We came out slow in the second half and didn’t get the shots to fall that we needed to.

We had some opportunities, but needed to get a few more defensive stops at key times. We will learn from the experience and make the adjustments that we need to make.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Lusk to take on the Tigers. The girls were eager to get back on the floor and get going.

The junior varsity started the day off right with a solid victory. They played good defense and moved the ball well on offense. It was a good challenge for them that they came out with a victory.

The varsity was up next and the Lady Wolves got it going right from the start and didn’t look back. The Wolves took a 60-23 lead into the half and finished the game with a 71-26 win.

I thought we came out with great defensive intensity and got turnovers. Following Tuesday’s game, we really stressed what we needed to do on the defensive end. I thought the girls really responded well and were able to get the victory.

The Wolves return home on Friday against Big Horn and then on Saturday against Wright. Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
