Lady Wolves scatter a few feathers

On Friday, the Lady Wolves took on the Bulldogs from Sundance. The game was back and forth for much of the first half with neither team able to gain a distinct advantage.

The Wolves took a slim 25-18 lead into the half. The second half was much of the same with both teams getting baskets and stops on the defensive end.

The difference came in the fourth quarter, when the Lady Wolves were able to hold Sundance to seven points while scoring 12 for a 53-38 victory. It was a good, competitive game, which is to be expected when you are playing a rival.

Saturday saw the Lady Wolves square off against the Tongue River Eagles. We knew going into the game that Tongue River has good size and are physical.

We needed to start off better than when we played up there and I thought we did that. Both teams were getting stops on the defensive end and found themselves tied at 29 points going into the half.

We made some adjustments on how we wanted to defend and the Lady Wolves executed and held the Eagles to seven points in the third quarter while scoring 16. The Wolves were able to close out the game with a 64-52 victory.

I really thought we did a great job on the defensive end in the second half and got some really good looks on the offensive end.

Overall, it was a good weekend and I thought we were able to continue to improve.

The Lady Wolves will head to Pine Bluffs for the Regional Tournament beginning on Thursday, where they will take on the Lady Rams from Big Horn. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. Come out and support your Moorcroft Wolves!
