One of the truckers participating in the convoy traveling past town last Thursday honked as the American flag waved wildly from the back of the rig. One such individual, local resident Amanda Fraker, stood with daughters Ryelene and Caryn in the back of her pickup as the three waved flags and waved at the drivers. She shared her reasons for being there and taking her girls from class for this event: "I wanted my girls to get a close view and be able to see history in the making. It's the power of the people; we can make changes. Whether you believe in this convoy's initiative or not, it's good to see that people can band together and make changes in our own country." The line, itself, carried less than 20 trucks interspersed with private vehicles, but, according to the honking from passing commercial rigs as well as spectators, their action was highly championed.
Last Thursday afternoon, the Washington State truck convoy came past Moorcroft on I90 on their way to Washington DC, where they later met with other fleets from various launch points within the lower 48 states.
The procession was met with many supporters as they drove through; their mission was advocated with honking, flag waving and banners from local residents, who parked along ramps and medians while others stood on overpasses to show banners in support.
