Moorcroft Police Report

April 11 - 17

On April 11, police were requested to do a welfare check on a family in town. Officer went to the residents and contacted everyone in the home. All appeared fine. Officer cleared.

On April 11, police were notified of a possible sexual assault. Officer responded and after investigation cited a minor with unlawful contact. Nothing further at this time.

On April 14, police were contacted regarding an individual trying to get into a residence and yelling very loudly. Officer arrived on scene and subsequently arrested the individual for breach of peace. Suspect was transported to Crook County Detention Center in Sundance.

On April 14, police were requested to do a welfare check on an individual who was threatening to commit suicide. Officer contacted the individual and spoke with them about their threat of self-harm. Individual agreed to seek help for their current state of mind.

On April 16, during a traffic stop, driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. Driver cited for possession of a controlled substance – plant form less than 3 ounces, and speeding 44 mph in a posted 30 mph zone.

On April 16, police were notified of a theft of cash from a wallet accidentally left at Dollar General. Video footage was obtained, and the suspect was identified. Suspect was cited for theft.

On April 17, police were requested to do a welfare check at a residence for a mother who was reportedly under the influence of a controlled substance. Officer went to the residence in question and was unable to contact anyone as no one appeared to be home. Nothing further at this time.

On April 17, police were called to Dewey’s Place in reference to a male subject threatening to kill people within the establishment. Officer arrived and located the intoxicated individual. Officer cited the individual for breach of peace and released them to a friend to take them home. Nothing further.
