Moorcroft Police Report

June 20 - July 3

On June 21, police gave emergency fund assistance to someone in need.

On June 21, police served a weed ordinance violation notice.

On June 22, police received a REDDI report from dispatch. Officer was unable to locate vehicle.

On June 23, police served two weed ordinance violations, one junk ordinance violation and spoke with two homeowners regarding junk ordinance.

On June 24, police served two junk ordinance violations, and spoke with two homeowners regarding junk and weed ordinance violations.

On June 24, police were called to Coffee Cup to assist someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain access to the vehicle for the owner.

On June 24, police provided courtesy escort along with Moorcroft Fire and EMS for the Elliott Family.

On June 25, while on a traffic stop for speeding it was determined the driver was DUI. Officer placed driver under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and transported them to Crook County Detention Center without incident.

On June 25, police served one junk ordinance violation.

On June 25, police were called for a report of kids throwing fireworks out the window of a moving vehicle. Officer arrived and spoke with the complainant and were advised that three boys (high school age) were throwing lit fireworks at the girls who were selling lemonade on the corner of Converse and Powder River. Officer took the information on the car description and description of the suspects, along with pictures of the burned fireworks. Officer searched the area but was unable to locate the vehicle. Officers will continue to keep an eye out the suspect vehicle and occupants.

On June 25, police received a report of fireworks being discharged in the area of North Platte and Crook Street. Officer drove around the area and was unable to locate anyone outside or hear any fireworks going off. Officer spoke with a few homeowners in the area who said they hadn’t heard anything but would call if they did. Nothing further.

On June 26, police served one junk ordinance violation.

On June 27, police were contacted by the Post Office regarding a vehicle being left in their parking lot for multiple days at a time on multiple occasions. Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle and advised them that the Post Office did not want them leaving their vehicle in the parking lot. Owner stated they would remove the vehicle.

On June 28, police gave emergency fund assistance to someone in need.

On June 28, police were called regarding a REDDI report. Officer contacted the vehicle and driver for speeding and did not detect any signs of intoxication. Officer issued a warning for speeding. Nothing further.

On June 28, police served one junk ordinance violation.

On June 29, police served one junk ordinance violation.

On June 29, officer assisted a woman with directions on how to get to Gillette.

On June 29, police were called to a report of property destruction. Officer arrived on scene and contacted the complainant who advised the suspect had kicked the door causing multiple panes of glass to break. Officer cited the suspect for Property Destruction.

On June 29, police contacted a person in Robinson Park who was looking to camp there for the night. Officer advised that they were unable to camp in the town parks but advised they could go to the rest area for the night. Nothing further.

On June 30, police issued three individuals with trespass notices for Pinnacle Bank.

On June 30, police served one weed ordinance violation.

On July 1, police spoke with a homeowner regarding a parking violation.

On July 1, police were contacted regarding a barking dog complaint. Officer contacted the dog owner and advised them of the complaint.

On July 2, police were called to an alarm at the West Texas Trails Museum. Officer arrived and did not see any signs of a break in. Keyholder arrived on scene and officer secured the building. Nothing further.

On July 2, police were called to Coffee Cup Fuel Stop for a report of two men fighting. Officer arrived and contacted the individuals that were arguing. One of the men was intoxicated and continued to yell and shout in a loud and agitated voice after officer advised him to stop. Officer subsequently arrested one of the men for Breach of Peace due to him refusing to comply with officer. Transported suspect to Crook County Detention Center.

On July 2, police served one junk ordinance violation and spoke with a homeowner regarding junk ordinance.
