Public weighs in on path plans

Saturday sat hot and clear, as Pine Haven residents came together for the public meeting at Waters Park to listen and discuss any concerns they have regarding the presented mapping of the multi-phased bike/walking path the council plans to establish and complete within the next few years, as well as concerns regarding any other issue of infrastructure, etc.

Attendees had many questions and comments over the hour-long meeting; an open communication that gave Mayor Karla Brandenburg confidence in the direction the town is going with this project.

"We were very happy with turnout [and had] lots of positive comments about the bike path and good comments on other areas to cover," she said.

The mayor assures citizens of the council's attention to these observations, both from this occasion and the survey offered to those who did not attend, available online at PineHavenPathways.com.

"All comments will be compiled by HDR and brought to the council for consideration," she said.

The next step of this project is already in action, according to Brandenburg, who commented, "We are already in process of applying for the next step of surveying the route we pick and working on easements and issues that may arise to finish the walking/bike path."
