New speed signs in Pine Haven

Pine Haven Director of Public Works Sunny Schell will be installing speed limit signage informing drivers of the 20 mile an hour limit throughout municipal roadways as well as ensuring drivers of tractor/trailers recognize the ten mile an hour limit to which they must adhere.

After ascertaining how many speed limit signs Schell has on hand, Mayor Karla Brandenburg asked the director to let the council know the areas where it would “make sense” to install signage and they then can purchase more, if needed. Schell currently has three and the cost for more will be between $40 and $50 a piece.

She will also be advertising dead end streets, saying, “People have been driving in different areas in town that are not through roads [and] when it was muddy, they tore up some areas.”

She attempts to recover these vandalized neighborhoods, but hopes to alleviate future harm by posting warning signs.
