Bad behavior spoils privileges

Public Works Director Sunny Schell spoke to the Pine Haven council at last Tuesday’s meeting regarding the dumping of garbage at the town maintenance shop.

Due to the misuse of the cage that had previously stood in the shop yard for aluminum cans, Schell has removed the cage completely.

“When I cleaned that cage, I filled the dumpster with household garbage and everything else plus the cans,” she said. “No more dumping, no more recycling at the city shop.”

Pine Haven Mayor Karla Brandenburg spoke emphatically about yet another abuse of a feature at the shop, saying, “Our area up at the town shop is NOT a dump and NOT for recycling. Some people have brought their recycle stuff up there, but we no longer can take that stuff. The cage is gone.”

“The slash pile, [with which there has also been misuse], will continue as long as long as municipal residents use it just for slash,” the mayor reminded the audience.

Signage will be posted regarding this trespass.
