Moorcroft Police Report

January 9 - 15

On January 9, police were notified by a business owner that someone had stolen their trash can from inside the business. Officer reviewed business security cameras and were able to identify the subject who took the garbage can. Officer contacted them and recovered the property. Property owner was contacted and retrieved their item from the Police Department.

On January 12, police were notified regarding a possible sexual assault of a minor. Investigation is continuing.

On January 13, police were asked to do a welfare check on a local resident who was said to be intoxicated and walking down the highway. Officer searched the area for them and when unable to locate, officer went to their residence to check on them. Officer contacted them at home, and all was well. Nothing further.

On January 14, police were asked to do a welfare check on an individual who hadn’t shown up for work. Officer contacted the subject who was fine and advised the officer they did not work for that employer any longer. Officer contacted the employer and advised them of the finding.

On January 15, officer assisted someone who had locked their keys inside of their vehicle.

Stats: 55 business checks, one assist to other agency, one sexual assault of a minor, one disturbance call, one petty theft, seven crosswalk/school zones, one vehicle unlock, one VIN check, two welfare checks, one fingerprinting, three traffic warnings
