Moorcroft Police Report

On January 16, police were requested to do a welfare check on a couple of children who were said to be in the care of their mother who was possibly suicidal. Officer contacted the subject who was determined not to be a danger to themselves or their children. Nothing further.

On January 18, police were called regarding a hit and run. Suspect vehicle and driver were located, and it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. Driver was cited for Hit & Run and Driving without a Valid Drivers License. Driver was then arrested for Driving under the Influence and transported to Crook County Detention Center without incident.

On January 21, police were called to a residence in reference to a possible domestic battery. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with both parties in the residence. It was determined that a battery did occur and the male subject was arrested for battery. Officer transported suspect to Crook County Detention Center without incident.

On January 22, police were contacted regarding a break-in at Hopper’s Beverage Emporium. Officer took report of the break in from the owner along with reviewing the camera footage for the business. Owner provided a name of the possible suspect, provided from multiple sources who identified the suspect through a post on social media. Officer then contacted the suspect who admitted to the break in. Investigation is continuing due to furthering information.
