Wolves place in WAWA Junior State tournament

Twelve Moorcroft high school wrestlers traveled to Sheridan this past weekend to wrestle in the WAWA Junior State Greco and Freestyle tournament. This tournament is a qualifier for freestyle and Greco nationals in Fargo, ND, the cultural exchange program that is traveling to Austria and Germany this year and for a chance to win the Triple Crown by placing first in folkstyle at high school state, and winning both Greco and freestyle. Individual results were:

Greco:

1st Place- Sean Buckmiller and Mica Herrera. Charmayne DeLong also placed first in the junior women's Greco division.

2nd Place- Tyzer Isenberger, Rowdy Pfeil and Parker Schlater.

3rd Place- Hunter Garoutte and Wyatt Peters.

4th Place- Darrian Black and Dekken Mayer.

Also wrestling in the Greco style was, Randy Peters and Parker Seeley. As a team, they placed second with 221 team points. High scorers were, Rowdy Pfeil with 40 followed by Mica Herrera with 30 and Sean Buckmiller and Wyatt Peters both with 24.

Freestyle:

1st Place- Sean Buckmiller, Mica Herrera and Rowdy Pfeil. Charmayne DeLong placed first in the junior women's division.

2nd Place- Dekken Mayer and Parker Schlater.

3rd Place- Wyatt Peters.

4th Place- Tyzer Isenberger and Hunter Garoutte.

Junior Women Freestyle:

1st Place- Charmayne DeLong.

Also wrestling freestyle was, Charmayne DeLong, Randy Peters, Darrian Black and Parker Seeley. As a team, they placed second with 216 team points. High scorers were, Rowdy Pfeil with 42 team points followed by Dekken Mayer with 35 and Mica Herrera with 30.

Next up for the post season wrestlers is High School Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA. and the Dual tournament in Des Moines, IA in March and the Marine Corps US open tournament in Las Vegas, NV. In April.
