Yard of the month

The Beautification Alliance of Pine Haven has awarded Yard of the Month for July/August to Jeff and Renee Bumgarner, who live at 209 Pine Haven Road. We also include their grandson, 20-year-old Coleton Ruede, who lives with them and helps a whole lot with the yard work.

Jeff and Renee moved here in March of 2016 from Oregon, where Jeff had retired from PacifiCorp. When Jeff retired, his good friends Mike and Dawn Pommarane talked them into coming out here to check things out.

They loved it so decided to move out, and Jeff now is PRECorp’s VP of Member Service and Exec. Dir. Of the PRECorp Foundation. Funny thing is, Renee said, after their friends talked them into coming out, the Pommaranes moved back to Oregon.

Jeff and Renee have three children, two boys and a girl, and six grandchildren ranging from 20 to nine months old.

We chose the Bumgarners’ home because of how neat and well-kept the yard is. No matter when you drive down the road, it stands out.

They have two big pine trees that the driveway circles, then with their grass is a beautiful deck and flowers at the bottom. Renee has a clematis she dug up from Jeff’s fathers home after he passed and brought back from Oregon. She hopes its going to live and so far it looks good.

We said hopefully the deer, who love them, will leave alone. She said that thanks to their dog (an adorable Black Labradoodle), whose name is Trouble, the deer haven’t  bothered them. She laughed and said there is a reason his name is Trouble: he thinks he’s a human, and does what he wants.

Also there are three hanging baskets across the deck with gorgeous flowers. Renee said every year for Mother’s day she gets three hanging baskets from her husband, one for each kid.

We want to congratulate Jeff and Renee and say keep up the good work in helping Pine Haven be a place of paradise. Also Coleton, you’re doing a great job.
