Makeover complete for Noonan Park

Noonan Park is busier this week than residents have seen it for decades. The repurposing of the basketball court and the finishing touches to the new restroom facilities are joined with the installation of the new playground equipment.

The work on the playground and restrooms is tentatively anticipated to reach completion by the end of June, according to Public Works Director Cory Allison, “If we don’t have anything else come up.”

To finish construction of the parking lot and loop, Allison noted the possible need of design to ensure proper fit and function, so a talk with HDR Engineering’s Heath Turbiville will probably precede further work.

Allison advised the Noonan Park enterprise will not be at an end with the completion of these efforts, saying, “It’s an ongoing thing.”

The council has prepared the new water lines to add on a splash pad in the future.

However, they hope to open the park to the public again before July.

Noonan Park is being reborn as the oldest and now one of the best parks in Moorcroft.
