Summer project season begins

As the town enters June, Moorcroft is relatively quiet, according to Mayor Dick Claar. However, he and Public Works Director Cory Allison report that several current projects are still ongoing.

Lagoon

The lagoon is essentially done, as per HDR Engineering’s Jeron Smith, “They’re just taking care of the little things.” The project should be complete by the end of the month.

Landfill

The town is not yet prepared to send the grant application into USDA as well as the subsequent loan application to Rural Development to fund the mandatory upgrade to the landfill that the town has chosen to pursue.

Lots

The town owned lots north of town hall on Big Horn Avenue are now up for bid for commercial development.

Noonan Park

After last week’s leveling of the site, Moorcroft’s public works laid out the pieces of the new playground equipment at Noonan Park early Tuesday morning. Allison anticipates completion of this part of the park’s overhaul by the end of June. This slide set will be similar to the recently finished at Robinson Park.
