Story Hour at the park

A few minutes before 10 a.m. last Wednesday, librarians Lacey Rasco and Heather Reynolds walked into the canopied picnic area at Robinson Perk to prepare for Story Hour.

This delightful time has been part of the stores of the children’s library for a long time, though usually conducted in the library. Rasco explained the change of venue, “We couldn’t have any programs in the library because of COVID-19, so we figured we’d do it outside and everybody enjoyed it so much, we decided to do it again this year.”

She unloaded the three books she had chosen for her audience of young listeners, “I gear everything for preschool age – three to five”, but, she assured that everyone is welcome.

Only two families attended Wednesday’s reading, but the librarian was not worried, saying the count can vary significantly in the warmer months because of so many other family outings going on. They will be there again on Friday for the “Story Creations by Denise Gard” at 1 p.m.
