The Oshoto Zone 25 Volunteer Fire Department hosted their third annual fundraising shooting competition Saturday and though temperatures were nearing 100 degrees and air quality was compromised due to smoke, "We had a fairly decent turn out," member Twitter Westover said.
Fifty contestants competed over the course of the day with the top three places winning a choice of a coat, vest or shooting bag.
Hadley Burch won the .22 rifle with the winning poker hand in the Youth category; Anna Burch took home a 20-gauge shot gun in the Women's; and Tom Christensen received a 12 gauge in Men's.
In the raffles, Trevon White acquired a chainsaw, Ralph Simmons collected 25 pounds of hamburger, and Shirley Nicolen won the 50/50 prize.
