Moorcroft Police Report

September 27 - October 3

On September 27, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On September 28, police were notified of an open 911 line at a residence in town. Officer arrived at the residence and spoke with the homeowner. It was determined that when they attempted to shut off their phone they had accidently called 911 instead. Officer cleared, as there was no emergency.

On September 28, police were called to the Moorcroft K8 in reference to a student who had left the school grounds without permission. While enroute to the school, officer observed a group of teachers escorting a child back to the school. Officer went to the office and confirmed the child had been located and had returned to the school. Nothing further.

On September 28, police responded to a traffic crash at the Dollar General parking lot. Officer took traffic crash report and insurance information was exchanged.

On September 29, police clerk gave emergency fund assistance to someone in need.

On September 29, police issued a 30-day junk ordinance violation notice.

On September 30, police were called to a disturbance in the area of North Platte Street. Officers arrived in the area and spoke with residents who stated there were a couple of boys were screaming, yelling and swearing at each other. The boys were located and advised to stop shouting and disturbing the neighborhood. Officer advised if they were called back for the same issue the boys would be cited for breach of peace.

On October 1, police clerk gave emergency fund assistance to travelers in need.

On October 1, police issued a 30-day junk ordinance violation notice.

On October 2, police heard a WHP complaint of a tractor trailer driving erratically on the interstate. Dispatch advised that they also were receiving numerous complaints of the same vehicle. Officer went up to I-90 to watch for the truck. Officer located the truck and conducted a traffic stop. Officer spoke with the driver who stated they were tired and still had a couple hours left to drive for the day. Officer conducted SFSTs to ensure they were capable of driving. Officer issued the driver a warning for lane use and advised them to slow down and pull over if they were too tired to continue driving.
