He's a mean one

The Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce held their first annual Christmas Light Contest. This year's contest had to be themed to a Christmas song/hymn.

We had 21 total entries and they were all excellent in their own way. I asked the Lindholm family from Sundance to come and enjoy our lights and pick the one they enjoyed the most. We had judges of all ages!

"All the entries were fantastic. It was a very close race for first place and I hope you don't mind but we picked a best business and a best residential house. #3 'Hard Candy Christmas' was the best for the business and #21 on 203 West Goshen 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' was the best house. If you can't award 2 winners, then #21 won overall by 0.2 points." Tyler Lindholm stated.

Because we only have one prize, the winner of the light contest is the Glenn family on 203 West Goshen with their 15-foot tall Mr. Grinch stealing the lights from the house. Congratulations to The Glenn Family.

Congratulations to West Texas Trail Museum for their running in the best business category and maybe we will add that next year.

Mr. Lindholm would like to add, "We need to do an honorable mention to #5 on 8 Lucian Lane for being a good neighbor and pulling us out of the ditch after we judged their house." Way to be in the Christmas spirit!

Thank you to all of those who phoned in and participated in the contest. We would like to make this a yearly event and we hope that you do too! Moorcroft Area Chamber of Commerce wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
