Moorcroft Police Report

April 25 - May 1

On April 25, police were requested to do a welfare check on an individual. Officer made contact and spoke with the individual. No concerns, officer cleared.

On April 26, a cell phone was found in the roadway between Town Hall and Dewey’s Place. Cell phone was turned into the Police Department and the owner of the phone was contacted. Owner picked up their phone. Nothing further.

On April 27, police assisted Crook County Sheriff’s Office on a possible suicide/mental health call.

On April 27, police assisted someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain entry for owner.

On April 28, police were contacted about a child custody issue. Officer spoke with the complainant and advised them that the issue was civil in nature. Nothing further at this time.

On April 28, police were contacted regarding possible trespassing. Officer spoke with the complainant about the situation and advised the complaint was civil in nature and any legal disputes would be for civil court to decide. Nothing further.

On April 28, police were contacted regarding a business alarm. Officer went to the business and ensured the building was not occupied and was secure. Nothing further.

On April 29, officer located a BOLO vehicle that was involved in a collision in Campbell County and had left the scene. Town Hall office employees had heard the description of the vehicle on the radio and noticed a vehicle matching that description getting gas at Diehl’s Supermarket. Officer was notified and they contacted the individual driving the vehicle. It was determined that the driver was the one involved in the collision and was held by officer until the arrival of Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers. Once WHP was on scene, officer cleared.

On April 29, police assisted someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain entry for owner.

On April 29, police assisted Moorcroft High School by administering PBTs for prom. 84 tests were given, all with negative results.

Stats: 50 business checks, three traffic warning, seven crosswalk/school zone, one bar check, one false alarm, one public service, two VIN checks, one welfare check, two assists to other agencies , two background check , two finger printings, two civil issues, two vehicle unlocks, one information report, one lost property report
