Fundraiser helps community

Members of the Pine Haven Over the Hill Gang and community gathered at the town community center Saturday for their Red, White and Blue raffle drawing.

Guests enjoyed lunch and a lively card game before the winners of the three prizes were announced.

Barry Adolf, Les Butts and Mandi Gideon each won one of three prizes, which included a Devils Tower Golf Package, a Black Anchor Gun Shop gift certificate and a Visa gift card, each prize valued at over $800. None of the winners attended the event, but were immediately informed.

The manner by which the prizes were disseminated was by subsequent choice; Adolf, being the first name drawn, had first pick, etc.

Pine Haven Fire Auxiliary President Pat Heinz explains the first recipient of the approximately $9800 in proceeds this year is the fire auxiliary and the rest, according to Over the Hill Gang board chair Rich Wilkerson, will be "distributed in the community wherever it's needed".

"The Auxiliary was given a generous donation of $3,000 for modifications and repairs on the small Auxiliary pull trailer. This trailer is used to transport food, water, tables, etc. when taking food out to a fire," Heinz says.

Wilkerson was happy with the generous contributions of the community and is looking forward to next year's event.
