Moorcroft Police Report

August 1 - 21

On August 2, police were contacted regarding someone trespassing at a business after hours. Officer spoke with the complainant; extra patrol will be done on business.

On August 2, officer spoke with a homeowner regarding a junk ordinance violation.

On August 3, police received a report of a juvenile given drugs and assaulted. Officer contacted the juvenile and parents and were advised that it was a false report. Nothing further.

On August 3, police were called for a possible domestic disturbance. Officer went to the residence and made contact with the occupants, and it was determined that the dispute was entirely verbal. They agreed to calm down and officer left residence.

On August 4, police received a report of a dog at large near the intersection of Campbell and Powder River. Officer drove around the neighborhood and was unable to locate a loose dog.

On August 5, police were called to Coffee Cup for a report of a person who possibly had some mental issues and was needing assistance. Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the subject. Campbell County EMS transported the subject to the hospital by his own volition. Nothing further.

On August 5, police were called to a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Converse and Lomac. Officer arrived on scene and traffic crash report was taken. No injuries reported.

On August 6, police were contacted regarding a vicious animal. Officer was unable to locate the animal.

On August 8, police were contacted regarding possible harassment of an employee at Coffee Cup. Officer spoke with the complainant and advised them to document all contacts and to be sure to contact law enforcement with any more issues.

On August 9, police were contacted regarding a complaint of juveniles driving four-wheelers recklessly on Rush Creek Road. Officer contacted the parents of the juveniles and problem was abated; parents disciplined their children.

On August 10, police were notified of a truck parked in the roadway at the intersection of Yellowstone and Converse. Officer found the owner of the vehicle and the owner advised that the truck slipped out of gear and rolled out into the street. Vehicle was moved, nothing further.

On August 13, police were called to a disturbance on Lomac St. Officer arrived and spoke with the individuals. Officer assistance was not needed, nothing further.

On August 14, police assisted Moorcroft EMS on an emergency call.

On August 14, police were contacted regarding a blue Dodge pickup speeding down N. Belle Fourche Ave multiple times. Officer kept an eye out for the vehicle throughout the shift and was unable to locate a vehicle matching that description. Patrols in the area will be increased.

On August 16, police gave Emergency Fund assistance to a traveler in need.

On August 16, police were contacted by a resident regarding water running into the street from their neighbor’s house. Officer went to the neighbor’s house and advised them the water was running. Water was shut off, nothing further.

On August 16, police were called to a two-vehicle traffic crash at Coffee Cup Fuel Stop. Officer arrived on scene and traffic crash report was taken. No medical attention required.

On August 17, police were called regarding a solicitor going door to door selling insurance. Officer contacted the individual and advised them they were not allowed to go door to door sales in town. Individual left the area, nothing further.

On August 20, police were called to Subway to assist someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain access to the vehicle for the owner.

On August 21, police were called to Coffee Cup Fuel Stop to assist someone who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officer was able to gain access to the vehicle for the owner.

On August 21, police were called to Coffee Cup Fuel Stop for a report of a man asking for assistance. Officer arrived on scene, and it was determined that the man needed EMS assistance. Officer escorted the man into the ambulance where EMS crew took over care. Nothing further.
