After 22 years, Pine Haven's annual Octoberfest has truly become a valued and essential yearly occasion for many, and this year was no different, with guests coming in throughout the day to enjoy lively conversation, bid on cool stuff and invest in the volunteers who will be on hand when called in the community.

This event raises funds to support the purchase of needed items for the volunteer municipal fire department; this year, the money will go to new radios for the growing number of firefighters.

Auxiliary member LaDonna Rolf oversaw the auction and said of the 15 baskets on offer, "The baskets are always a crowd pleaser and they give everyone a chance to win and also support our fire department." Many door prizes were also donated.

Overall, according to long time fire auxiliary member Pat Heinz said of this year's get-together, "I consider it very successful with lots of participation from within the auxiliary and an active community."
