Lady Wolves back on the court

On Friday, the Lady Wolves hosted the Herders from Glenrock. The first quarter didn't see much scoring with the quarter ending in a 4-4 tie score. The Wolves lost some ground in the second quarter and found themselves down, 24-21 going into the half.

We made some adjustments at halftime and really wanted to focus on our defense and keeping our defender in front of us. Neither team was able to gain any ground before the Lady Wolves took advantage in the fourth quarter.

The Wolves scored 21 points in the quarter while holding Glenrock to just three points for a 49-37 victory. I thought we really executed on the defensive end and then had great opportunities that we were able to take advantage of with our offense.

On Saturday, the Lady Wolves traveled to Upton to take on the Lady Bobcats. Upton jumped out to an early 18-5 lead after the first quarter and took a 30-21 lead into the half.

The second half was back and forth with the Lady Wolves getting to within six points, but that would be as close as they were able to get. Upton came out with a 56-47 victory.

We had a slow start in the first quarter and really had to expend a good deal of energy to get back in the game. We battled and got it back to within six, but just weren't able to get the stops when we needed to. It was definitely good to get back on the court, having not played since December 13. Continuing to find four quarters of consistency is the goal.

The Lady Wolves head to the West River Tournament in Hot Springs, SD on Tuesday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. and in Rapid City, SD on Saturday.
